Thirsty Thursday: Dry January Mocktails

This is the second time that I am participating in Dry January and we are officially more than halfway!  I’ve gotten through the first two weeks with a fair amount of ease.  I even went to a friend’s belated holiday party, didn’t drink and wasn’t tempted to, but I’m getting a bit sick of water and hot tea.  So, I made a few mocktails today to put into my rotation until February 1.  

If you don’t have the ingredients or can’t find the below, just visit local your favorite store and pick up mixers of your choice.  I found my mixers at a Trader Joe’s or World Market and grabbed what I thought would taste good and felt a bit luxurious.  For those of you out there participating in Dry January, we are almost there!  If you are, let me know in the comments below your favorite drink to get through the month!




  • Combine lemonade, sparkling water, and ice in a champagne flute
  • Top with garnishes 



  • 3/4 cups Kombucha (I used local Austin’s Kosmic Kombucha Purple Haze, which has a combination of Organic Grape Juice, Lime, Cinnamon, Lavender, Clove, & Agave)
  • 1/4 cup Topo Chico (or another sparkling water of your choice)
  • Garnishes:
    • Cinnamon sticks
    • Cloves


  • Add 2 cinnamon sticks to a small mason jar
  • Add Kombucha and pour Topo Chico over
  • Top with a few cloves 



  • 1/2 cup Ginger People Ginger Soother (Ginger drink with Honey and Lemon)
  • 1/4 cup Topo Chico (or another sparkling water of your choice)
  • Garnishes:
    • Lemon slices and peels 
    • Slices of ginger
    • Blueberries (frozen or fresh)


  • Place ice in a Coupe glass 
  • Pour the ginger drink and Topo into the glass
  • Top with lemon slices, lemon peel, ginger and blueberries
