Thirsty Thursday: Chai Cashew Milk

I felt as though I was giving you a lot of Thirsty Thursday recipes with alcohol in them, so today’s doesn’t.  It has finally turned cold here in LA (by LA standards) and today’s Thirsty Thursday is a perfect drink to warm you up in the cold winter months coming up.  If you love chai, you will love today’s drink from TheNewPotato.com.  I hope you give this recipe a try!

1 Cup Raw Cashews

1/2 inch piece peeled ginger

1 TSP Cinnamon, and a few sprinkles for garnish

1/4 TSP Cardamom

1/4 TSP Salt

2 TBSP Maple Syrup

3 1/4 Cups Water

Soak cashews for at least 2 hours, rinse, and drain

In a high-speed blender, blend all ingredients until creamy and smooth

Store in an airtight container for up to three days in the fridge and use as desired

You can either blend with your smoothies (substitute for the milk you use) or heat a cup over the stovetop and sprinkle with cinnamon for a warming treat.
