Before I went home for the holidays, I went to one of my friend’s going away parties. Since I love to cook and bake, I offered to make the cake. This is the recipe I used, and it was a huge hit! Next time you need a cake to bake, try this one! (It is on the back of the Hershey’s Cocoa box)
2 Cups sugar
1 3/4 Cups all-purpose flour
3/4 Cup Hershey’s Cocoa
1 1/2 TSP baking powder
1 1/2 TSP baking soda
1 TSP salt
2 Eggs
1 Cup milk
1/2 Cup vegetable oil
2 TSP vanilla
1 Cup boiling water
Preheat oven to 350
Grease two 9-inch round baking pans
Combine dry ingredients in large bowl
Combine eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla in separate bowl
Combine dry and wet ingredients on medium speed for 2 minutes
Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin)
Pour into pans
Bake 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean
Cool until cakes
(Bake a day before you frost and freeze the cakes overnight–see my tip from yesterday HERE)
Stay tuned until Friday when I tell you how to finish this perfect chocolate cake!
Stay hungry…
