Today’s Tip is a tip to go along with yesterday’s Homemade Hummus recipe (http://www.newsforchews.com/2011/12/19/meatless-monday-homemade-hummus/). I gave you my amazing recipe for traditional hummus, but with today’s tip, you can jazz up your hummus. What I did was make a big batch of the hummus and if I was in the mood for something a little different, I put a few tablespoons of the hummus back into the blender and added one of the below add-ins. You don’t need much to make the even great tasting hummus better. Here are a few of my favorite flavors of homemade hummus.
Roasted Red Pepper
Spicy Red Pepper (add a few shakes of red pepper flakes and crushed red pepper)
Garlic (just add a few more garlic cloves or add garlic salt)
Lemon and Rosemary
Also, if you don’t like chick peas, you can make the homemade hummus with white beans instead. Tastes just as good!
