I made this recipe for the first time last night and was happy that it turned out better than I expected. I didn’t know how cooking tofu on the stove would work, but trust me, you definitely need to try this recipe! Even if you don’t like tofu, this taco tofu doesn’t tasted like tofu…too much.
1 Packet of Extra Firm Tofu
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Packet of Taco Seasoning
Lettuce Wraps or Tacos
Drain tofu from the container
Place tofu on a plate covered with paper towels
Place another plate on top of the tofu and add a weighted object (I used a can of beans)
Change the paper towels a few time to get as much liquid out of the tofu as possible
Coat the bottom of a pot on stove with olive oil
Crumble tofu into a heated pot
Once tofu is heated, add water and taco seasoning
Cook tofu and seasoning until water is absorbed
Place Tofu and other garnishes in lettuce wraps or tacos
