Candy Cane Caprese

Can you believe the holidays are here?! I think I’m still in 2018 let alone 2020 being in a few weeks! I was browsing Insta and saw the cutest festive appetizer board and figured I’d make it for you. And, what’s even better is that it only takes about 10 minutes and no baking or cooking is required–just a few slices of a knife! See below for a recipe for a Candy Cane Caprese that is a great appetizer to serve at a holiday party.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Packages Ovoline Mozzarella
  • 3 Medium Tomatoes
  • Basil
  • 2 TBSP Balsamic Vinegar
  • Sea Salt
  • Pepper

Method:

Slice tomatoes and mozzarella into 1/4 inch slices

Place a slice of tomato followed by mozzarella on the board

Continue alternating between tomato and mozzarella slices into the shape of a candy cane

Sprinkle sea salt over tomato, mozzarella and board

Place basil leaves on bottom of board

Pour balsamic into a small bowl and place over basil leaves

Nothing actually tastes like peppermint. It is just in the shape of a candy cane.
