Tuesday’s Tip: How to Keep Your Tulips From Drooping

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner–one week from today.  Since flowers are a huge part of celebrating the day, I thought I’d give you a tip for tulips today.  Tulips aren’t the traditional Valentine’s Day flower, but I’d much rather receive a vase of tulips than roses.  But, tulips tend to droop after a few days in the vase, so today’s tip will help stop that problem.  Simply take a straight or safety pin and pierce the stem about an inch under the flower.  Then cut the stem where desired and place in a vase (or you received a vase, simply pierce the tulips already in the vase).  In a few days, you’ll notice your tulips are still perfectly upright, instead of drooped over.
