Thirsty Thursday: Happy National Coffee Day!

Today is National Coffee Day and of course I am celebrating with a cup of Nespresso coffee, but I am also celebrating with a Coffee Steak Marinade made with High Brew cold-brew coffee.  This coffee is made with 100% Fair Trade Arabica beans that are roasted, ground, soaked, then filtered.  This product is mixed with a blend of Pure Cane Sugar, a touch of Stevia, and a hint of milk (and sometimes vanilla, dark chocolate, or salted caramel) .  Follow the recipe below for a recipe to celebrate National Coffee Day other than sipping on a cup!

Ingredients: 

 1 1/2 lbs skirt steak

1 cup cold brew- High Brew Black and Bold

4 tablespoons Maple Syrup

3 cloves of garlic roughly chopped

2 sprigs of fresh rosemary, torn

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon of black pepper

1 teaspoon of kosher salt

 Directions: 

Whisk cold brew, syrup, garlic, rosemary, red pepper, black pepper and salt together

Marinate steak for two hours in the fridge, turning the meat over about half way through

Sear steak on grill or cast iron pan on high heat for three minutes on each side for rare, five minutes on each side for medium

Let skirt steak sit for five minutes after cooking, then slice and serve

Serves 2-4

Marinade can be made a day in advance
