I love Nutella and cookies, specifically chocolate chip. I can put Nutella on or in (almost) everything…crepes, apples, bread, and even spoons. So, today’s recipe has jumped to be my favorite cookie recipe. It is an Oatella Chocolate Chip cookie. Yep…oatmeal and chocolate chips and Nutella! What could be better?! Follow the recipe below and I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup crisco (in stick form)
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
2 large eggs
One 13-oz. jar Nutella
2 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a medium bowl, whisk dry ingredients
In a large bowl or in stand mixer beat the butter, crisco and sugars at medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes
Beat in eggs, one at a time, scraping down the sides
Add the Nutella, and beat until smooth
Reduce the speed, and beat in the dry ingredients
Stir in the oats and chips
Scoop 1-tablespoon mounds on parchment lined cookie sheets
Bake 10-14 minutes until set
Cool on pan and then transfer cookies to rack to continue to cool
In other news, this weekend Michigan football plays Notre Dame for the last time!! Have a great weekend and GOBLUE!
Stay hungry…
