Tuesday’s Tip: How to use Peeps!

First, I hope you all have been well.  Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you!  I have been a little busy and haven’t had as much time to devote to NewsforChews as I want.  For the next few weeks I will be posting intermittently, so bear with me.

Second, I hope everyone had a great Easter!  Did you find all the hidden eggs and get loads of candy?!  Today’s tip is Easter candy related.  I always find Peeps in my Easter basket, but I eat one or two then, I’m tired of biting into the marshmallow treat.  So, today I wanted to give you a few other ways to use Peeps!  First up is as a simple topping to hot cocoa!

Next is a sandwich!

When I was a kid, I used to love eating peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches.  Since a peep is just a marshmallow with colored sugar, I decided to make a peanut butter, banana, and peep sandwich!

Peep Sandwich Ingredients

Flip sandwich

Once both sides are toasted and peep starts to melt, take off heat

While letting sandwich cool, continue placing bowl or plate on top

Eat and enjoy!  The only thing I would have done differently is to cut the peep so it would have been not only in the center of the sandwich.
