Tuesday’s Tip-A New Kind of Rolling Pin

Do you want to bake cookies that you have to roll out, but you don’t have a rolling pin?  Problem solved – use something that I always have in my fridge…a wine bottle!  The wine bottle works great, is easy to handle, and is a great substitution to a real rolling pin.  It works best if the bottle is unopened, because of the weight of the wine against the cookie dough.  To keep your wine bottle clean, put a sheet of waxed paper over the cookie dough when rolling.  An added bonus to using a wine bottle rolling pin…you can open and drink your wine when the cookies are baked!  (Or while they are baking!)
