It’s that time again…Meatless Monday! I am always looking for ways to prepare tofu other than draining the container, chopping it, and throwing it on my plate. Here are two of my favorite, easy ways to prepare tofu.
Preheat oven to 375
For both tofu preparations:
Drain 1 container of extra firm tofu
Lay a few paper towels on a plate
Place tofu on paper towels and cover also with paper towels
Place another plate on top of the tofu and add a weighted object (I used a can of beans)
Change the paper towels a few time to get as much liquid out of the tofu as possible
Cut the tofu block in fourths
For balsamic tofu, place tofu in dish and marinate tofu in balsamic for about 10 minutes per side.
Roast tofu in oven for 30 minutes
For tofu with spices, sprinkle black pepper, onion powder, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning on both sides of tofu.
Grill in oven for 40 minutes
Serve hot with some veggies, pasta, or rice, or serve cold chopped on a salad. Do you have a favorite way of preparing tofu? Leave it in the comments below!
Stay hungry!
